Penis augmentation is a non-surgical treatment that involves the injection of dermal fillers into the penile shaft to increase the thickness and flaccid length of the penis. Hyaluronic acid based dermal filler is the material most commonly used to enhance the penis. This type of dermal filler is our preferred option to increase penis size as it is safe, reversible and biocompatible, being naturally found in the penile tissue. Most men take 7-15mls of penis filler to achieve a satisfactory increase in the size of their penis. The most common type of filler used to enhance the penis is a dermal filler based on a naturally occurring compound known as hyaluronic acid. This is the gold standard option for the following reason: Achieves natural-feeling results; Biocompatible product with years of safety data; Completely reversible for added safety; No effect on natural penile tissue.

Other less common options include collagen stimulating injections and permanent fillers. Permanent fillers are not ideal as any complications may require surgery to fix. Collagen stimulating injections are not reversible, and can make future treatments much more technically challenging owing to the fibrous tissue they produce in the shaft.

Following your comprehensive and confidential consultation, the penis will be cleaned, marked and numbed with strong anaesthetic to ensure a comfortable procedure. Tiny pilot holes will then be made at key areas along the shaft. Through these holes, a fine, blunt-tipped dermal filler cannula will be inserted beneath the skin. Dermal fillers will then be precisely placed along the penile shaft using the cannula. After the penis filler has been placed, it will be moulded smooth to ensure an even result. The penis will be cleaned again and a dressing applied.

Enhancing the penis with dermal filler generally takes under an hour, however we always advise patients to book off around 90 minutes per treatment to ensure your comfort and time for recovery.

When performed correctly by an appropriately qualified and experienced health practitioner, there should be minimal discomfort felt from penis filler injections. Dermal filler is injected along and around the penile shaft between the two main fascial layers. This layer is ideal for the injection of dermal filler as it is void of any important structures, simply containing mostly fatty tissue that dermal filler integrates very well with.

You will see an immediate increase in the size of your penis after having dermal filler injections. It is important to allow time for any treatment-related swelling to resolve and wait 2-4 weeks for the filler to settle. At this time you can assess the final result and add more dermal filler if you would like further increases in the size of your penis. We also advise that patients avoid sex or masturbation for at least 7 days post-procedure.

Most men find that their penis fillers last 18 – 24 months. Occasionally, you may need to build up your result with a few sessions. Those that have built up the size of their penis with dermal filler find that it is not uncommon for the result to last even longer than anticipated. You can come back for additional treatment whenever you like as long as medically suitable. Some men return more frequently for smaller touch-ups, while others wait longer before having a more comprehensive maintenance treatment.

You can have more filler injected as early as 7 days after your previous treatment as long as all of the swelling has settled and the penis has healed. 4 weeks is the ideal minimum interval, however if you have travelled a long distance to receive the treatment, then it is usually ok to shorten the time between sessions for your convenience.

In preparation for your penis filler injections, you will be asked to adhere to the following before-care instructions: Closely trim the treatment area of its hair the day before your appointment. Do not shave the area as this can increase risk of infection. Shower and clean the area a few hours before your appointment. Avoid consuming alcohol within 24 hours of your appointment. Refrain from intense exercise immediately before your appointment.

After having penis filler, you can drive yourself to work, or home immediately after the procedure. You will have a bandage applied to the penis, and this should ideally be kept in place. A prescription will be provided for medications to help the healing process. You will need to take these for a few days to reduce the risk of infection and improve the result. You’ll need to wait at least 7 days before resuming sexual activity to ensure a great result, and to minimise infection risk.

You can participate in gentle exercise immediately after having penis filler. For moderate or intense exercise, you should wait a few days to allow the penis to heal.

You need to abstain from sex for at least 7 days following your penis filler treatment. This is to reduce the risk of infection and ensure that the filler settles evenly.

You should wait at least 7 days after your penis filler before masturbating. Masturbation can shift the penis filler out of position, especially in the first week, and can increase the risk of infection.

The most common side effects from penis fillers are temporary redness and swelling, and bruising and/or bleeding at injection sites. These will resolve quickly after your treatment. Low and more uncommon risks include infection, lumps, bumps and contour irregularities. Many of these can be corrected using penis dermal filler dissolving should they occur. These can be corrected immediately by our doctors using dermal filler dissolving agents, should they occur. In very rare cases, the body can have an allergic reaction to other compounds such as the anaesthetic within the filler.

The following groups are not suitable for penis fillers:

Aged under 18;

Those with a micropenis;

People with significant congenital or acquired deformities affecting the penis;

Men with certain medical conditions such as bleeding disorders;

Men with active skin infections in the genitalia area;

Men with unreasonable expectations about what can be achieved with penis filler.

Very slight lumps and bumps do occasionally occur after penis fillers. The risk of lumps and bumps is significantly minimised by injecting the dermal filler carefully into the shaft of the penis, and by ensuring that you carefully follow all aftercare instructions. If there are any lumps or bumps after having penis fillers, they can be treated with dermal filler dissolving agents.
